Personality Hats are in

Fashion has spoken, and the personality hat is all the rage these days. You know what that means? It means it’s a great time to put your logo on a hat.

Talking about all the rage these days, you’re going to want to make it a Branded Bills hat. They make quality merch people actually want to wear.

Don’t just take it from us, see what a happy client has to say about the branded hats they just ordered:

They're wearing them to bowling alleys, sporting events, etc.” Rebecca Ferguson, Empire CAT

Hey PICKLEBACKers! 🏓

This week, we're serving up some essential information on how to properly fuel and hydrate your body for optimal pickleball performance. What you eat and drink can significantly impact your energy levels, endurance, and recovery on the court.

How to Re/Fuel In & Out of the Kitchen

Pre-Game Nutrition

  • Timing is Key: Eat a balanced meal 2-3 hours before playing to allow for proper digestion.

  • Carb Loading: Focus on complex carbohydrates for sustained energy (e.g., whole grains, sweet potatoes).

  • Lean Protein: Include a moderate amount of lean protein to support muscle function.

  • Hydration: Start hydrating well before your match to ensure you're properly hydrated when you step on the court.

During Play

  • Quick Energy: Keep easily digestible snacks on hand for longer sessions (e.g., bananas, energy bars).

  • Electrolyte Balance: Consider sports drinks or electrolyte-enhanced water for extended play, especially in hot conditions.

  • Regular Sipping: Drink water consistently throughout play, not just when you feel thirsty.

Post-Game Recovery

  • Replenish Glycogen: Consume a mix of carbohydrates and protein within 30 minutes after playing to aid recovery.

  • Rehydrate: Continue drinking water or electrolyte drinks to replace fluids lost during play.

  • Anti-Inflammatory Foods: Include foods rich in omega-3s and antioxidants to help with muscle recovery.Positive Affirmations

Hydration Tips

  • Color Check: Monitor your urine color – pale yellow indicates good hydration.

  • Personalized Needs: Calculate your sweat rate to determine your individual hydration needs.

  • Avoid Alcohol: Limit alcohol consumption, especially before playing, as it can lead to dehydration.

Tip of the Week: Top Spin Serve

Topspin serving in pickleball can be an effective way to add variety and difficulty to your serves, making it harder for opponents to return the ball. Here’s how you can develop a topspin serve:

1. Grip: Use a continental or eastern forehand grip for better spin control.

2. Stance: Stand sideways to the net, with your non-dominant foot forward.

3. Swing Path: Use a low-to-high swing, brushing up on the ball for topspin.

4. Contact Point: Hit the ball at the bottom or middle, focusing on upward motion.

5. Follow Through: Continue your swing upwards and across your body for consistency.

Remember, proper nutrition and hydration are just as important as your physical training. Fuel your body right, and you'll see the difference in your pickleball performance!
